Making Afro hair care simple!
Untype is a Trichology clinic, salon and event space in central London. We help Black women get the hair they want & actually enjoy the salon experience, by taking the pain out of styling & preventing common causes of hair loss.
Why Untype?
The name “Untype” was chosen for a few reasons but mainly because Black women should not feel confined to a hair type and the limitations this can cause. Our aim is to empower our clients to feel free to do as they wish with their hair and have more fun doing so.
The Problem
We've had innovation in every area of Afro hair care except in the salon where we spend the most time. 1.HARD to find a GOOD stylist or hair loss professional
2. PROTECTIVE styles often cause MORE damage

Our Solution
Hair health is closely linked to physical & mental health, so we focus on the whole person and base our styling practices in the principals of Trichology (the study of the hair and scalp).
Our 3 areas of focus give Black women the support and resources to develop a healthier relationship with their hair.
